ABOUT WESAK
Wesak is a holy ceremony and celebration that originated in the Himalayas in Tibet. The Wesak full moon is considered to be the holiest day of the year, when Heaven and Earth are connected when humanity receives the highest frequency of light.
Wesak 2012 is celebrated by Buddhists around the world, and in different manners all over the world to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and death of Lord Buddha because according to Buddhists, all the three events took place on the same lunar date.
It is said that in the Wesak Valley the temples of the Great White Lodge anchor on this day to bless humanity and to open our hearts to God consciousness as the Ascended Masters come to the Earth to bless all beings.
At Wesak all spiritual paths are honored, laying the foundation for the unity of all humanity. It is a time of great spiritual renewal and celebration. The quality is enlightenment and it influences wisdom, education, self knowledge, writing, teaching and speech.
So it is a perfect time to expand your channel pillar and to honor humanity and assist humanity’s karma to be lifted through many dispensations offered by the Ascended Masters at this time.
The Ascended Master Djwhal Khul is quoted as saying in the Alice Bailey books:
"Wesak is the single greatest Event on our planet, and the one that has the greatest effect upon humanity.
No cost is too great to pay in order to be of use to the Spiritual Hierarchy at the time of the full moon of Wesak.
No price is too high in order to gain the Spiritual illumination which can be possible, particularly at that time!"

The date of Wesak or Vesak
Vesak 2012 falls on Saturday, 5 May 2012, (full moon in the sun sign of Taurus in Scorpio), which is the 15th day in the 4th month of Chinese lunar calendar. However, some countries observe the Vesak Day 2012 on different dates. It is being celebrated in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and India on May 5th.
The exact date of Vesak Day varies according to the various lunar calendars used in different countries and traditions. In Theravada countries following the Buddhist calendar, it falls on the full moon Uposatha day (typically the 5th or 6th lunar month). Vesak Day in China, Hong Kong and Macau is on the eighth of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar.
The decision to agree to celebrate the Vesak as the Buddha’s birthday was formalized at the first Conference of the World Fellowship of Buddhists held in Sri Lanka in 1950, although festivals at this time in the Buddhist world are a centuries-old tradition. The Resolution that was adopted at the World Conference reads as follows:
“That this Conference of the World Fellowship of Buddhists, while recording its appreciation of the gracious act of His Majesty, the Maharaja of Nepal in making the full-moon day of Vesak a Public Holiday in Nepal, earnestly requests the Heads of Governments of all countries in which large or small number of Buddhists are to be found, to take steps to make the full-moon day in the month of May a Public Holiday in honour of the Buddha, who is universally acclaimed as one of the greatest benefactors of Humanity.”
